Norwich Heart, Heritage Economic & Regeneration Trust

International HEART

HEART acted as a best practice model nationally and internationally for developing heritage as a vehicle for social and economic regeneration.

We secured HEART's entry to the prestigious League of Historical Cities as England's first member city.

We facilitated the ICOMOS (International Council on Monuments and Sites) Conference in Norwich in 2008 and the Norwich Declaration which was endorsed at their international conference in Quebec.

We contributed to reports and papers on heritage-led regeneration and associated topics and HEART's CEO regularly spoke at various conferences and events across the country and around the world about HEART's work. Examples include:

  • English Historic Towns Forum
  • Euro Cities, Poland
  • European Institute of Cultural Routes, Luxembourg
  • Heritage Link
  • The British High Commission for Canada and the McGill Institute for the Study of Canada
