The 2010 brochure
The 2010 events brochure is now out, featuring 215 Heritage Open Days events taking place in Norwich, the Broads, South Norfolk, Greater Yarmouth and more.
It will be available from Norfolk libraries, Creative Arts East racks, at Tourist Information Centres and cultural venues and can also be downloaded.
To make sure you receive a copy promptly please send your name and email or postal address to and we will email or post the brochure out to you as soon as it's available.
Booking questions and answers
Please note that some events require pre-booking. You can pre-book from 2nd August by printing out, filling in and posting off this booking form with a stamped addressed envelope to allow us to post out tickets (or you can use the booking form in the hard copy brochure). .
Why do I need to book?
Some Heritage Open Days events need to be pre-booked. This is because they have limitations of space and for safety's sake we can't let them get too crowded. They also include some private homes, busy workplaces and places where security is an issue.
We recommend you book promptly as many events are very popular and fill up quickly.
If you are successful in getting tickets to a pre-booked event you will be sent tickets in your stamped addressed envelope which will include more details about where the event is and where to meet for guided walks.
How do I book?
You can book for most pre-book events in Norwich using this form - just fill in your choices, with your first and second options for time and date. A few events have separate phone numbers or addresses for bookings though, so please read the entries carefully.
You will need to enclose a stamped addressed envelope, so that we can send you your tickets - unfortunately we cannot pay postage. Please allow 14 days for your tickets to arrive.
From Tuesday, 31st August any remaining tickets will be available to be booked from Norwich Tourist Information Centre (TIC) at The Forum, Millennium Plain.
How are tickets allocated?
Tickets to the events are allocated on a first come first served basis, starting when the brochure is out on 2nd August. We ask for your first choice and second choices, so that you have the best chance of getting what you want. You can ask for tickets to as many events as you like, but we will not issue two sets of tickets for the same dates and times.
What if I have received tickets but can't go?
If you can't use some or all of the tickets you receive, please return them to us to so that others can be allocated the space. You can post them or drop them in to us (Norwich HEART, The Guildhall, Gaol Hill, NR2 1JS) or you can call the phone number of the tickets and give us the numbers on the tickets.
What if I don't receive tickets to an event I wanted to go to?
To do the limited space on pre-booked events, if you do not have a ticket we are very sorry but you will not be admitted. However returned tickets will be available at Norwich Tourist Information Centre right up to the day of each event, so if you haven't been lucky it's still worth popping in just in case.
We have done everyone we can to make this booking system fair and straightforward, but it is inevitable that some of the events will fill up quickly and some people may be disappointed. You will however find many exciting events across Norfolk which don't require tickets. Please do give these a go as well, and enjoy Heritage Open Days!
If you email or call 01603 305573 with your contact emails we will add you to the distribution list and make sure you receive next year's brochure the day it is out by email or by post.
