Heritage Open Days (HODs) is a hugely popular and important event in the city's calendar, offering the public a once-a-year chance to discover hidden architectural, historic and cultural treasures, which they can explore for free. The HODs programme involves open buildings, guided tours, exhibitions, talks, family activities, window displays, music recitals and re-enactments. Participating venues include museums and tourist attractions; private homes; churches and cathedrals; city centre shops, restaurants and pubs; and offices and workplaces.
If you own or run a building you think might be suitable to take part in Heritage Open Days in 2012, or if you have an idea of an event you would like to run (even if you haven't got a venue yet), please contact the HODs team via info@heritagecity.org in the first instance. We would love to hear from you.
HEART and the National HODs partnership will provide insurance, publicity, guidance and support for events, such as advice on funding and matching up with volunteers.
The success of HODs is dependent on an army of passionate and dedicated volunteer stewards, administrators and ambassadores and HEART is always interested to hear from people interested in volunteering to support events. If you are interested in volunteering please send your details to info@heritagecity.org and we will get in touch.
If you would like to receive the latest news and events information from HEART please complete the details below.
