Glimpses of Heaven: Church Art and Architecture in Trust By Derek Palgrave A talk showing a wide range of churches in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust (CCT), including its three churches in Norwich. It includes internal and external views, close ups of special architectural features, fixtures, fittings, monuments and other items of ecclesiastical art now held in trust in its churches by the CCT.

Anchorholds and the City Churches in Late Medieval Norwich By Dr Carole Hill A talk exploring the financial situation of women who chose to live a solitary life devoted to religion as anchoresses in late medieval Norwich. It will look at how money was left in wills for charitable work and the impact of this on the city.

The Earliest Churches in Norwich By Sophie Cabot Find out what history and archaeology can tell us about the churches and Christianity in Norwich before the Norman Conquest.

See the winning and shortlisted photographs from last year‘s photography competition - a stunning collection of images showcasing Norwich‘s outstanding collection of medieval churches.
There will also be an information stand at the exhibition with leaflets about what you can to do at the churches, about local history, photography courses and more, to interest people inspired by the exhibition.
In addition there will be a programme of supporting content in Fusion, the new digital gallery space in The Forum, from 1st to 13th March 2010. Both will be free to enter.

A big thank you to everyone who entered the competition this year - the standard was very high across the 157 entries received and the judges spent a lot of time discussing the entries.
The overall winner is Julia Cameron with her image of St Stephen‘s Church entitled "Inside / outside reflections" (on the left), which won the Art and architecture category. Judges commented: "Simply a beautiful photograph. The light spills onto the arches, highlighting the detail in the stonework which is framed by the reflection of the trees. The tone and warmth of the autumn leaves is seductive against the architecture of the church. The photographer has created a piece of art."
