A new, free online walking route planner for Norwich has been launched, to encourage the city's residents and visitors to walk more: www.walkit.com/norwich.
HEART has commissioned walkit.com - the UK's leading provider of web-based walking directions - to create the route planner for the city with an aim of encouraging walking, reducing traffic and thereby improving health, fitness and the city environment. The site also aims to assist visitors to the city in accessing the city's heritage on foot, enabling visitors to plan walking routes to take in the city's finest heritage buildings and places of interest.

The route planner is part of a wider project funded by the East of England Development Agency which HEART is working on with the landscape team from Norwich City Council, who are providing expertise and support for the project.
